YM London Design Tour

Amber and I love to get inspired by our incredible city and all the different design elements from past and present. As entrepreneurs, our days are never the same and often result in a completely crazy schedule travelling across London and stopping at some very special places on the way. Here is what a typical day for us out and about looks like…

Morning

Amber and I meet at White City House to host a client for a breakfast meeting and decide to do some work there before our seeing our next client onsite. On the way to meet me, Amber stops at one of her favourite local coffee shops, Antipode for a triple shot flat white.

We love to work from White City House, as with all Soho House clubs the interiors have such a cosy, warm and curated feel that always pay homage to the area they are in and the history of the building. The open space on the 9th floor and poolside are our favourite places to work or to discuss strategy.

We then travel to our next meeting in South Kensington, a site visit with a new client to assess their property and discuss design direction with them. The meeting goes well and we are admiring the huge ceiling height and natural light already creating ideas in our heads!

Noon

We have a gap for lunch and before our next meeting, we decide to walk through the magnificent Victoria & Albert Museum to get inspired. We sit in the courtyard and have a quick bite to eat while discussing the site visit we just had, excited for the project!

Off we go again! We head to Home House to meet our Board Advisor for a Strategy meeting. We love to come to this glorious building, the interiors are one of a kind and pay homage to the decorative arts. Hand-painted marble walls, frescos, a Zaha Hadid bar (although undergoing a full refurb) and the beautiful courtyard. It’s a magical place to meet like-minded and entrepreneurial people.

We finish the work day off at Sketch which has recognisable and overly Instagrammed interiors…and are obviously amazing! The location is perfect for central London meetings and today we are catching up with our PR agent to discuss some exciting possibilities.

Night

As evening falls, and the babysitter is booked, I decide to coerce Amber to go check out a few Design Hotels that we haven’t been to for a cocktail to wind down and digest the day. First, we head to London Edition Hotel and then to the Rosewood London. Both have incredible and inspiring interiors and so decadent…which we LOVE.

What are your favourite places in London to work from or get inspired by? We would love to hear in the comments below.
